Bio

Welcome to our Fifth Grade Science and Social Studies class!

About Me:  My name is Brandy Hammock, and I could not be more excited about what this school year will bring.  I graduated from Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville Tennessee.  I was a cheerleader and competitive cheerleader throughout Middle School, during my High School years at Cookeville High School, and throughout my years at Tennessee Tech.  My cheerleading career took me to new heights, and taught me many lessons on how to reach goals that I set for myself.  I am a wife and a mother.  I have two wonderful children, and two dogs.  My son plays travel baseball, travel soccer, and basketball for Rock Creek.  My daughter is on a competitve gymnastics team and enjoys competing in pageants.

My Career:  This is my 13th year of teaching.  I have taught Kindergarten for 7 years, First Grade for 2 years, Third Grade for 1 year,  Second Grade for 1 year, a Fourth Grade interim, to currently in my second year as a Fifth Grade teacher.  Teaching Fifth Grade has been a truly remarkable experience these past two years.   My teaching philosophy has grown and changed over my years of teaching.  Teaching is my passion, as I want to help all students who enter my classroom to feel success, for each one of them to feel supported and loved, and for all of us to grow together as we learn and make important mistakes along the way.  My goal for my students is for them to leave knowing that they have made a difference in my life, as I hopefully have in their lives.  I will strive daily to make certain that my students will leave 5th Grade, ready for Middle School, and ready to take on any task set in front of them.
